COGENCY partner Baltic Street Wellness Solutions continues to strengthen New York's peer-support workforce through advocacy, education, and community-based engagement.
Recent work highlighted by Baltic Street includes advocacy for sustained investment in the peer workforce and expanded support for Intensive and Sustained Engagement Teams. Baltic Street operates New York City's only INSET program, a voluntary, peer-led approach for people with significant mental health needs and histories of repeated hospitalization. The organization is also preparing educational outreach to help participants understand changes expected in Medicaid in 2027.
These efforts demonstrate how lived experience, trusted relationships, and voluntary engagement can help people remain connected to care and community supports. Peer-led innovation is an important part of COGENCY's vision for coordinated and responsive behavioral health services.
